For Helpers

You are not alone in this.

Working in a new country, in a new home, far from your family — this is a big step. At Bethel EA, we are not just here to find you a job. We are here for you.

We are here at every stage

Before you arrive

We explain everything clearly.

What to expect. What your rights are. How to reach us. You will not arrive not knowing what to do.

When you start

We check in after your first day.

Then after your first week. Then at one month. We want to know how you are. Not just whether the job is going well.

If something is wrong

Tell us. We will listen.

We will help. You do not have to sort it out alone. That is why we are here.

For as long as you work

We are here for the whole time.

Not just at the beginning. For as long as you work in Singapore, you have someone at Bethel EA you can reach.

What working with Bethel EA looks like

The process, from your side

We start with a conversation. We ask about your experience and your skills. We ask what kind of home you would like to work in.

We listen to what matters to you. Then we look for a family that fits. When we find a good match, we tell you about the family. You have time to ask questions. You have time to decide. Nothing is rushed.

What we ask of you

We ask three things. Be honest with us. Tell us about your experience — what you are good at, and what you find hard. Be reliable. Your employer depends on you, and so do we.

And stay in touch. If something changes — at work, at home, or with your health — let us know early. We are on your side. But we can only help if we know.

Your rights in Singapore

As a domestic helper in Singapore, you have rights. Your employer must give you a rest day each week. They must pay your salary on time. They must give you food and a safe place to sleep. They must not keep your passport.

If you have questions about your rights, ask us. You can also find more information — including links to the MOM website and your country's embassy — on our Resources page.
